Bestiae is an artistic project that has been produced thanks to the Vegap 2017 Proposals help. A work materialized in a video, two sculptural pieces and a photobook.
After a year of exhibition tour through Galicia, Asturias, Madrid and Bavaria, I have seen necessary the publication of the photobook to reach a greater number of people.
The photobook Bestiae proposes an essay in which male domination of the animal is analyzed, and how it relates to gender, art, war and disease.
Starting from a personal fusion between visual poetry and documentary language, the texts of Catia Faria, philosopher, Carmen Dalmau, art historian and Estela Díaz, researcher, complement the work from their different fields of study.
Bestiae is divided into four parts that, together with the texts, expose and analyze the "ritual" of hunting to take us to an emotional state that will not leave you indifferent.

Bestiae es un proyecto artístico que se ha podido producir gracias a las ayudas Propuestas Vegap 2017. Un trabajo materializado en un vídeo, dos piezas escultóricas y un fotolibro.
Después de un año de recorrido expositivo por Galicia, Asturias, Madrid y Baviera, he visto necesaria la publicación del fotolibro para hacerlo llegar a un mayor número de personas.
El fotolibro Bestiae propone un ensayo en el que se analiza la dominación masculina sobre el animal, y cómo esta se relaciona a través del género, el arte, la guerra y la enfermedad.
Partiendo de una fusión personal entre poética visual y lenguaje documental, los textos de Catia Faria, filósofa, Carmen Dalmau, historiadora de arte y Estela Díaz, investigadora, complementan la investigación desde sus diferentes campos de estudio.
Para la realización de Bestiae he necesitado dos años en los que, durante las temporadas de caza, he acompañado a distintos grupos de cazadores en numerosas batidas (modalidades de caza), así como a cazadores que van por libre.
De primera mano he podido vivir, comprobar y hablar con los protagonistas, ser testigo en primera línea de los mecanismos legales e ilegales que utilizan, y así recabar el material necesario para conformar el fotolibro.
